About

We sell blanks and printing. We do not sell designs.

Printyard is the custom printing operation of DESIGN BY U UNIQUE APPAREL LLC, a Florida Limited Liability Company based in Orlando, FL. The artwork on everything we make comes from the person who ordered it. Our part is the garment, the process, and being straight with you about what each one can and cannot do.

A pre-press bench with exposed screens leaning against a wall, tins of ink, a tape measure and a squeegee

The problem we are actually solving

Most custom print orders that go wrong go wrong for a reason the customer could not have known at the time they ordered. The fabric would not take the method. The artwork was 90 DPI at the size it was placed. The minimum was twelve and they wanted eight. The colour on the screen was never going to be the colour in the tin.

None of that is exotic. All of it is knowable before anyone pays. So we publish it: the minimum order, the colour ceiling, the maximum printed size, the laundering test behind each durability figure, and a compatibility table that greys out anything your fabric rules out and tells you which physical property is the reason.

The price works the same way. Five quantity bands, published in full, calculated on our server, and shown live while you configure with the next band and its saving spelled out. Nothing is unlocked by asking.

What we run

A working catalogue rather than an endless one, so that everything in it is stocked and everything about it is documented.

Who ends up here

Almost always someone ordering for a group rather than for themselves, which changes what matters.

  • Clubs and teams

Squad kit with names and numbers, where the run repeats each season and the second run should not pay for the screens twice.

  • Schools and student groups

Youth and adult sizes in one order, under children's product rules where the sizes call for them.

  • Companies and trade shows

Stitched left chest work on polos and softshell, where the finish has to look considered rather than printed.

  • Events and fundraisers

One design, a lot of pieces, a fixed date, and a hard need to know the ship-by window before committing.

  • Families and celebrations

Small runs where direct-to-garment or vinyl makes the maths work at eight pieces instead of twelve.

  • Small brands testing an idea

A first run of merchandise, usually one proof piece followed by twenty-four, priced so both steps are visible up front.

03

What we will not do

A short list, and we would rather lose the order than move on any of it.

  • Print artwork that is not yours to print

Every file goes to a person before it goes on press. Trademarks, crests, characters, celebrity likeness and unlicensed images come back with a written reason and a full refund.

    What we will not print
  • Promise a print is immune to wear

Every surface print wears with use. We publish a measured laundering result from a stated laboratory procedure instead, and describe it as exactly that.

    Claims we do not make
  • Promise your screen colour and our ink will match

They are different physical systems. We work to a nominated reference, get close, and call the result an approximation because that is what it is.

    How we handle colour
  • Write 'custom orders cannot be returned' and leave it there

A change of mind is not a valid return on a printed garment. A fault, a printing error, a mis-shipment or a garment outside tolerance always is, and we pay the return postage.

Where we are

Printing, embroidery, finishing and packing happen at our facility in Orlando, FL. The blank garments themselves are manufactured overseas, and the country of origin for each one is stated on its product page and on the garment label. Decorating a garment in the United States does not change where the garment was made, and we do not describe it as though it did.

The fastest way to find out whether we are any good is one shirt

A proof piece is a single unit of exactly what you configured, run on the real press with the real ink. It costs the list unit price plus a small proof charge, and that charge comes off in full when you follow it with a batch.
